21 Oct The Arqus European University Alliance
The Arqus European University Alliance is a multilateral alliance of internationalized institutions, made up of 9 universities (Breslau, Granada, Graz, Leipzig, Lyon 1, Maynooth, Minho, Padua, and Vilnius) that share a unified vision on research and higher education, with shared academic, scientific, and cultural goals.
It was established on November 27, 2018, in Brussels with the signing of a memorandum of understanding by the rectors and presidents of the 9 universities, aimed at strengthening cooperative ties between institutions.
This Alliance aims to integrate policies and action plans to enhance the education of European and global citizens committed to multicultural, inclusive, and multilingual collaboration. Additionally, it seeks to develop and improve the research capacity of these universities by facilitating full cross-institutional integration. Arqus aspires to joint action to consolidate an inter-university cooperation model.
Currently, the 3rd edition of Arqus MoVEs is open, a virtual exchange program that offers the opportunity to meet and discuss global issues with other students, allowing you to improve your mutual understanding and interpersonal skills in a multilingual environment.
The 9th edition of Arqus Café is also open, a virtual meeting space through Zoom to practice linguistic and intercultural skills outside the classroom in a more informal and relaxed environment. This edition offers 12 languages: Arabic, Belarusian, English, French, German, Lithuanian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.
To take part in these sessions, you need at least an A2 or B1 level in the corresponding language.
