14 Sep GRANADA HOSTS THE 115TH SESSION OF THE ASSOCIATION OF PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES OF ANDALUSIA
Granada took centre stage at this meeting, which was attended by the universities of Granada, Almería, Jaén, Huelva, the International University of Andalusia, Seville, Pablo Olavide, Málaga, Cádiz and Córdoba. All were represented by their respective rectors.
The meeting took place at the Hospital Real, the administrative headquarters of the University of Granada (UGR), and was chaired by Pedro Mercado, Rector of the University of Granada, and Paco Oliva, Rector of Pablo Olavide University and President of AUPA. The meeting included the presentation of the president’s report and an analysis of the work carried out by the technical committee on funding. A debate was also held on strategic issues for the 2026/2027 academic year.
It is worth noting the importance of the sectoral meetings, in which nearly a hundred vice-rectors have taken part to analyse issues falling within their remit: financial management, health, teaching quality, research, etc. These meetings take place on the day before the official opening ceremony of the academic year in Andalusia, which will be held at the Hospital Real on Friday 11 September.
