CORPUS CHRISTI GRANADA

Once again, Granada is preparing for the celebration of Corpus Christi. This year it will start on May 25 and extend until June 1. Corpus Thursday will be on May 30, the main day of the festivity, when the solemn procession with the Custody of the Granada Cathedral will parade through the streets of Granada, along with the more playful La Tarasca, a parade symbolizing the triumph of good over evil.

The fair is located in the Almanjáyar neighborhood, which can be easily reached by highway, bus, or metro. Visitors have access to public parking and a taxi service.

Corpus will begin with the lighting of the Ferial, featuring a gateway that is 30 meters wide and 18 meters high, illuminated on both sides with more than 6,000 lights, accompanied by a performance by the Municipal Music Band and the Municipal Group of Regional Dances.

In Plaza Bib-Rambla, we can find a characteristic element of the Granada Corpus: the carocas and quintillas, as well as the Children’s Corpus, with entertainment companies and puppet shows. In Paseo del Salón, we will enjoy the Pottery Fair, and the Isabel la Católica theater will have a special cultural program.

On June 1, Corpus will end with the traditional fireworks display near the fairgrounds. All Granadans and visitors will be able to enjoy this visual spectacle.
