09 Mar EXPOSITION: “LIVING IN A FARMSTEAD IN AL-ANDALUS. EL CASTILLEJO DE LOS GUÁJARES”
From 3 March to 11 April, we can enjoy this exposition in the Sala Zaida, which will also include three lectures on the El Castillejo site. Its origins lie in an excavation carried out in the second half of the 1980s by researchers and archaeologists coordinated by Antonio Malpica from the University of Granada.
This exposition will show us, through the ceramic objects found in the excavations, the different ways of life of the peasant groups that settled in the rural areas of Al-Andalus. El Castillejo is an archaeological site of great interest for understanding the structure of rural settlements in Al-Andalus.
The exposition is organized by Alberto García Porras, teacher in the Department of Medieval History and Historiographical Sciences and Techniques at the University of Granada, and the Caja Rural Granada Foundation.
The three lectures that can be enjoyed at this exposition will be given by Alberto García Porras; José Manuel López Osorio, from the University of Malaga; and Helena Kirchner i Granell, from the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
