21 Oct La evidencia la da la ciencia: The UGR takes a stand against health misinformation

The University of Granada runs a science communication program called La evidencia la da la ciencia (“Evidence Comes from Science”), which aims to deal with misinformation and false claims about health circulating on social media and digital platforms. The project is led by the Office of the Rector for Health and Relations with the Healthcare System, in collaboration with the University’s Communication Office and the Unit of Scientific Culture.

This initiative gives voice to researchers and professionals from the University who rigorously address some of the most widespread myths — from false beliefs about vaccines to the idea that we only use 10% of our brain — as well as topics such as the effects of daily hair washing.

This program is especially valuable in today’s digital age, where an excess of information does not necessarily mean better information. La evidencia la da la ciencia seeks to provide clarity, scientific evidence, and critical thinking skills to help the public distinguish between verified facts and misleading content.
