The Higher Sports Council has designated the public universities of Andalusia to organise the 2026 Spanish University Championships. Over 4,000 participants will be present in Granada for competitions in futsal, rugby 7, swimming and adapted swimming, equestrian sports, among others.

For the first time, a single autonomous community will host all the sports disciplines of this national event, positioning Andalusia as a benchmark for university sport, in which the UGR will be involved.

The competition will begin between March and May with more than 6,300 participants from 85 universities. As we can see, these comprehensive championships with such high participation are a sign of the importance of sport in university life and diversity.
