02 Dec UGR – Funding and ‘Ramón y Cajal’ Programme

The University of Granada (UGR)has secured 6.5 million euros and 25 research positions in the latest Ramon y Cajal grants.

UGR is the Spanish university that has obtained the most resources of this kind. Out of the 441 grants granted, 190 were assigned to the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the other Spanish research centres. The remaining 251 grants were assigned to both public and private universities, with 10% going to UGR.

The Ramon y Cajal grants are part of the State Programme to Develop, Attract and Retain Talent, aimed at facilitating the integration of young researchers into research organizations and companies within the Spanish Science, Technology, and Innovation System. Their purpose is to promote the inclusion of outstanding researchers, both Spanish and foreign, to enhance their skills and enable them to secure stable positions in the research system.
