This network is made up of 44 institutions whose objective is to promote reading and writing. This group tries to be a vehicle for the integral promotion of the university student and not just a simple work tool.

This network has been active since 2006, after the celebration in Badajoz of the I International Symposium of Reading Universities with the aim of promoting reading and writing in the university environment in all its theoretical and practical dimensions. This network includes other international universities from Venezuela, Russia and Portugal, among others.

Dr. Campos Fernández-Fígares has announced that RIUL will collaborate in the next congress to be held in November on the writer Rafael Alberti. This will be one of the many activities that the University of Granada will be involved in.
